High panel quality is our strength. Quality indicates on the one hand high-quality interviews and on the other hand a stable response rate. This response, i.e. the number of participants of invitations, can be directly influenced, negatively or positively, by diverse events in the panel life of members. For example, repeated exclusion from target groups, technical problems, but also by the nature and receipt of the remuneration.
We know that every member reacts differently to these events. It is, therefore wise to differentiate these different types of members. We have defined 4 fundamental types in the respondi mingle panel:
• Type 1 – „Non Starter „does not take part in surveys even at the start of his panel life.
• Type 2 – „Sudden Quitter „is initially an active survey participant then the participation frequency suddenly stops.
• Type 3 – „Slow Quitter „is also intially an active member,but his activity slows down in time.
• Type 4 – „Top Performer „takes part regularly in surveys.
We carry out this categorisation in two stages. The first stage takes place after the first four sur-vey invitations. Even at this early stage, two groups can be defined: the “Non-Starter” type and the yet to be defined active participants. The second stage follows retrospectively after six survey invitations have been sent out. Six surveys are used as a benchmark, in order to take into consideration holidays and days when the panellist may have been ill. If the panel member does not react to six invitations to participate in a survey; then he is categorised as a „Sudden Quitter „type. If the participant only takes place in one or two surveys, then we assume he is a „Slow Quitter „type. Participants with two or more participations are labelled as „Top Performer“.
The decisive factor in the categorization is that we measure the response rate after the last six invitations and not after a certain period of time with a varying frequency of invitations. In this way, members can be categorised under the same conditions. Depending on the type, we can create new events, for which we can contact the participants, incentivize positively, and bring them nearer into the world of respondi mingle. All measures, which aim to maintain the response rate at a high and stable level in the long term.
