Open eyes and reach for the smartphone; most students start their day by checking their mobile devices. We discovered to what extent smartphones are an integral part of students daily life, in a survey carried out together with adsquare. For this purpose, we surveyed 500 students in the UK to find out more about their mobile usage.
The results: Students can no longer imagine a life without their mobile devices. 82% of all first semester students in the UK own a smartphone, 68% of them use it even before they get up out of bed. 98% of students use their phones primarily for social media services; however 84% also use their smartphones to access local services and offers.
“Mobile-First” has long since become part of student daily life. Which is why students as a target group have become increasingly interesting for advertisers? Ultimately, not only are they the affluent customers of the future, but they have already proven to be reliable respondents. This makes them highly relevant for advertising messages.
